In the hapless conundrum between good and evil
Choices are made through the dispensation of free will
That the forces at play haunt the entire universe
And encumber all things in it – both righteous and adverse
To subjugate to reality and to forfeit the conscience
Is the dilemma of the soul, to retain its very essence
When permeates the flaws of material creation
That manifest spiritual glory or beget degradation
The test of life is a travail of maintaining purity
Because the handiwork of the foe compounds disparity
with the all-knowing, even as He of us is endearingly beckoning
To save us from damnation; but it is up to our reckoning
For, in time, God’s all-pervasiveness is contested by Satan
Here, the latter is the one who hijacks everything
It is in eternity that God is ever-so omnipresent
That it is after life’s toil that we understand that quotient
