He who seeks to manifest the holy magnum opus
Must in these little truths always indelibly trust
That the dignity of justice is not in all-encompassing love
It is embedded with discrimination, which is the calling from above
That the pure work involves loving those who need and deserve it
It is in giving worth the effort where it altogether befits
The mendicant understands that he selflessly needs to withhold it
Even to dear ones, when evil encumbers and good is desisted
Innocents are always loveless when they tread the misbegotten path
They then sadly face the unsavoury music of the magician’s wrath
It is in being true to God’s unflinching machinery that must be one’s design
Of love bestowed; and to materialise ultimate justice that we must resign
And forgiveness to those that care not to pay do not grant
Nobility in magnanimity is not the answer to God’s wants
The worker often loves himself not, to save himself from evil’s cast
Resisting the enemy should be one’s struggle to the very last
