The cauldron of wanting; the crucible of love and justice

To have little and few aspirations is certainly no crime

But when one is overambitious, one can no longer be benign

For ruthlessness sets in when one is solely devoted to objectives

When we repress all things that exclude our prerogatives

The more we have, the more we want, is the cause for restlessness

not equanimity; for to value the little that we have begets happiness

Should we then sacrifice peace and joy for the grandeur of over-achievement

Our wisdom should be excluding what we want, but to settle for what is meant

For true valour is in sublimating to destiny’s unrelenting will

To seek any other way is a futile resisting of what is eventual

Instead, can we not direct our energies to altruism and philanthropy

To be humble in power and strength and to pursue selfless glory

Justice and fairness should supersede our personal will and influence our love

That should be our unceasing call of duty, to heed to the voice from above

For the truth is: the most sought-after desire for our souls to befit

Is to make the reality of love as perfect as the idea of it
