Friendship: A poem

Having a friend is like winning trophies

A reassuring chat like cake and coffees

The guide of hope on the very front page

of character; words with deeds marriage

Where there is moisture the earth bursts

And harvests rear up from care’s thrusts

A cool wind comes in when windows are unlatched

The fledglings arrive when the eggs are hatched

So, does friendship’s towers invariably grow

With hard work’s tide sea meets shore

But envy poisons the two chefs’ dinner

And bitter is the taste when egos simmer

Let pride not stir friendship’s broth

Regret is the river when you lose a lot

Humility is the story of success’ plot

Then a friend forever is what you’ve got
