Who says creation is perfect?
Can even paradise be circumspect?
Feels like God with his million thumbs
left the sculpture replete with crumbs
Who says dignity and honesty are a gift?
We know the truth can only cause a rift
Goodness and Idealism scale no cliff
Morals and ethics are flotsam in the drift
Virtue is a donkey flogged with the whip of lies
Religions are Cyclops with the cruelest eyes
The practice is a far cry from what they theorise
Human history is full of battles fought without sighs
But personal choice is like an effervescent bloom
Spiritual wisdom may sound foolish but is no fool
The one who seldom strays from the righteous spool
for eternity will be blessed with the golden spoon
And I feel more hopeful after this …
