I saw my Mum in marigold
My dearest in jasmine’s fold
My dad’s asters I did behold
And all of these in streams of gold
The pets were there at every stare
And siblings with whom to share
That precious moments are never rare
Even if battles rage over my hair
There was much too a forbidding cliff
But courage was my greatest gift
And raised my flag in the stormy drift
The world would be mine after its shift
And the love unspoken and untold
Gave me strength and me consoled
That I can fight till I’m old and cold
The magic carpet is never unrolled
In my lamp, is a benevolent genie
My cup of tea has spoonfuls of honey
I know there will be a tryst with destiny
This sublime, myriad treasure for all to see
so beautiful , so much of hope you give us through your poetry
thank you Monte
