Your rainbow: A poem

If I were clairvoyant, I’d do an endoscopy of your divine soul

What’s that rapturous bit of you that simply tears me whole?

I can’t figure out why I bleed for your every precious word

Your fire breezes through my earth; all reason goes unheard

Silent distance rules our communion like an invisible rudder

This hide may be dead leather, but is my omnipresent weather

Patience stills my hope, and I am always looking for your clues

It is snowy in the garden, but there’s a vibrant kaleidoscope of hues

The constant thunder has become routine music for my ears

I have blown whistles of waiting all through these turbulent years

The road keeps winding, but your presence dissipates my fears

And in this tireless walking, you teach me not to count on tears

The dough is leavened to bake crisp bread in destiny’s oven

The table is set for your amazing culinary skills to be proven

My candles will all be lit by the incredible stroke of your lightning

And my skies will be ablaze with the glorious rainbow’s sighting
