Conscience: A poem

Self-will

can be a devil

A wish

can be a blade’s swish

The soul could hang

where victory rang

Ego’s bang

mutes what humility sang

 In a chorus,

the backbench makes no fuss

For sacrifice,

is no feast for flies

The lowly dressing

gets God’s blessing

Conscience

runs eternity’s distance

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
