An ode to Aldebaran: A poem

Above Orion’s enigmatic belt

I saw that flame, would I melt?

My soul felt grace, so I knelt

in kindred kinship that I felt

O Aldebaran, you fearless bullseye

shining in the northwest sky

coming straight riding at me like a dream

in an invincible galactic stream

I see the brilliance of the spaceship

And as I wave out, it zips and flips

greeting me with playful blinks

giving me hope that will never sink

Come to me more often, and again

So, my struggle should never go in vain

I am witness to all the zodiac’s rain

And I only wish for you to reign!
