Everything I gathered from life…:A poem

Those beautiful days

when the sky turned over like crisp sheets

of bedding; and everything was gold

and open as leaves of trees

Even the wind was a rainbow…a bow

of Lord Kama, having us all in his radar

I could turn time’s fleet in hot afternoons

yet school never seemed to get over

as we yearned for the steam train

with the coal all in our hair

take us to the sands of Mum and Dad’s country

and have the colours of their proud innocent happiness

fill our souls with the wisdom of free animals

And feel the sky touch the earth

and shine its summer in a tan on our skins

And I never realised then

that everything I would gather from life since

would be beautiful

I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
