To dear Dad, my eternal dad and son: A poem

Most of the time you were Joseph

Most of the time I was Jacob

Father was both son and father

Such a legacy we always did gather

And love is not just a flash in the pan

We know it is perennially fertile land

We only always did abide by God’s hand

There is such an oasis in His sand

Take love, that mother is daughter-in-law

And my eternal love, Sarah, always had me in awe

We may have had wounds that were always raw

But it is always God’s love and benevolence that we saw
