Democracy is a crime, and not my rhyme!: A poem

In a long while, I haven’t voted

For, I swear, it must be noted

that democracy is only sugar-coated

It is bitter and should be loathed

And I’ll be way past ninety-nine

and still not pay the fine

The exercise of such will is not a crime

For, democracy is certainly not my rhyme!

For messy is this crassy democracy

You’d know if you were savvy or sassy

Bring in the God-anointed Kings

The ones who deserve the rood and ring

Don’t be fooled to think you have a voice

Or to believe it is your bloody choice!

All this overwhelming din and this noise

is to make you all their gullible toys

For your vote only makes you scapegoat

Your soul is locked inside a moat

Democracy is a disguise of insincerity

to sell you only to either the devil or deep sea

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
