Jacob’s eternal wrestle: A poem

I, Jacob, toiled for you for twenty-eight years

I never thought I’d grow old Rachel my dear

And Laban (Prakash) was treacherous, yet I never did fear

No fear, when there’s rock and roll in the ear

I never even feared when I had to wrestle

I knew that with every rebirth such was my tussle

And the illuminating ladder was shown to me to be seen

Rachel (Jashmina), there never has a greater love been

This is not chance; was there a warning in advance?

I always kept my word through this immortal dance

Remember me? I am Jack, Jacob and James (Yakov)

I did it for you Jashmina, without cough or hiccup

We know who is to blame, we know who is to shame

But can there be an end to this eternal game?

We will come all over again with another name

But, no matter what, I’ll love you just the same!
