A legacy to posterity: A poem

I lived in the shadows of waiting

like a romancing of patience

There is no snapping of resilience

despite evil being a beast

that partakes of every feast

that, then, I should avoid, to say the least

Did I worry that there is no kind hand

to take me through the pain

even as it takes me again and again?

And I have no recourse to anyone

when treachery always has me undone

to repeat the self-defeat

How did this illumination shine

to be relentlessly divine?

The sacrifice is the only possession that is mine?

A question that needs addressing

A universe answers in silence

As if the answer was silence itself

That even an uncertain wisdom

knows the certainty that its uncertainty

is all but taken care of

That all motion is correction

of the incorrect, as destiny flows

I can see the sky keep changing colours

Yet, understand its pride in its existence

because it has meaning and purpose

And I know that there can’t be any regrets

that even all the sufferings

are numerous hieroglyphs of a legacy’s tale

to be deciphered in the ages of posterity

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
