I didn’t ask for relief; there is belief: A poem

Would I say the trees were free

if grass hopped and twigs flew

If fire woke me up from sleep

and the heart’s blaze was my keep

I can’t think of a dimension

that I would accrue as new

Every nook trembles with a look

The universe itself shook

My age is such, that none can gauge

But I recollect when you, I did, engage

And this birth of a little earth

was only sequential in finding its worth

The story of our love and loyalty is so prolonged

that it weathered all that was wronged

God could have been imprisoned

but he oversaw every person

So, that all the strings loosen

taking us away from poisson

Even when the choices are unacceptable

Hope lies in a battlefield on the table
