O Aphrodite! What is Adonis’ destiny?: A poem

Am I ever companion to stalemate?

Is there ever any better fate?

Is Adonis cursed by his own purity?

Does evil want to snatch him for his beauty?

How much can fated love endure?

as the indignity of depths is a prison, not allure?

Do conflicting seasons always mark Adonis’ destiny?

Are death and resurrection, just like it always happens?

Can Aphrodite’s love create a miracle with its might?

Or is her love just compelled to be magic without a bite?

You know, this immense eternity was never black and white,

Even God was stumped when they stole his light!

You can see treachery always makes me wait

Generosity is a subdued unrequitted mate

And I don’t know if my loyalty to my beloved can be of any aid

in making the much sought-after justice my eventual fate
