Weren’t you with me since the beginning of creation?: A poem

You were with me ever since the beginning of creation

So, you know where all my treasures I have hidden

I can’t compare my love for you with just about anything

For it is best left speechless in its wonderstruck estimating

You can gift me all my dignity and take it away with sudden treachery

These wounds resound with laughter in my soul for eternity

For, I know the shadow looming over us is not yours or mine

I have had so much patience, never running out of time

I know any love I have is at risk of being swallowed by the deceiver

Yet, I call on my unflappability with my telephone receiver

Are God and his incarnation disparate, and not one being

Have I been blindfolded so that I am denied of my unique all-seeing

Yet, I am convinced that there’s no madness in the helpless nomad

Those distances between you and me are filled with undissipating glue

There is a deep reckoning within me that deceit can never shallow the truth

The brave vulnerable maverick is never intimidated by you-know-who?
