Would I wonder at me, God?: A poem

Would I wonder

if I wandered from a cocoon

into an expanse

about the limits of my existence?

As if the expanse,

became all at once,

my cocoon

Would I wonder that my mortality

was assured of an immortality

Even as day meets its death

and night is only a flame to be put out by fate

How can I measure my peerless traverse

as eternity itself?

If I could hear the universe chant back at me

as it keeps expanding into an unfathomable distance

that the stature of being God

is the only expected reward

I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
