An open letter to the Australian Labor Party: A poem

I couldn’t have been more unawares

between fish and moon

But even conjecture, sometimes, makes you suspect the spoon

There is a light within me that solidifies my strength

You can deceive me, but not for too long a length

I can count all the stars in the sky

but not those assigned to you

Do you know that dark matter is stealthy,

but antimatter is destructive?

I have come from the beginnings, I know what to unleash

I am so certain that you are only a shadow of what you preach!

I will no longer draw the circumference

to protect you from the depths

You can align with treachery for the moment

and believe you can win

But you barely have the wisdom

to reflect that you have consigned yourselves to eternal doom

I am not your labourer, even though it was my blood and sweat

Dignity is in not asking a penny from the thieves’ debt

I only desire to save deserving souls, I neither forgive nor forget

You must know I have no respect for you; you were only conspiringly selfishly adept

Justice takes its time. Patience is no crime. But it is you all who are desperate!

I think your idea of Leftist democracy has really passed its time

All your subsequent crimes against me will not break my bones

For I am calm with the knowledge that it is you who owe me the loans

But I am not going to keep repeating though you must know this:

that all of you will have no redemption with your chess-play, you are reserved for the eternal abyss

Just none of you dare fantasise that you will get a taste of God’s tea!

I have such an immortality that defeat cannot empty!
