Do I know the art of writing a love letter?: A poem

Do I know the art of writing a love letter?

Would my expressions sound any better?

If I could feel all my soul’s clutter

be soft and smooth as the most delectable butter?

Would I be a braveheart to call you sweetheart?

Or even dare to drive my endearment to a darling?

Am I to shy to ask you why

we haven’t spoken for so long? and time does fly!

Would a flower be a symbol, more expressive?

Or chocolates be more demonstrative?

I am just killing time with all this patience

It is like I have eternal sustenance

I didn’t rouse up all my horses among the roses

I am still not sure what destiny composes or disposes

But I feel none can call my power to account?

And I know all the perfumes of Arabia cannot sweeten those treacherous hands?

There will be much to say after that evil disbands

I can only say now, my love for you is no four-letter word

It is more numerous, vivid and magnificent than all the world’s birds (put together)!
