What is loving and hating in Islam?: A poem 

I can see the madrassa ejaculating its deep-throat words 

at young malleable minds; who never fail the namaaz! 

What is idiocy? An extreme belief that makes you dive 

into destruction to seek beatitude. A war of the worlds,  

that sprouted way back in the fight for Constantinople  

and Jerusalem? How the Christian world shrunk in the face 

of Muhammad’s indefatigable chant and fanaticism; that,  

you know a religion should be spread by the sword, and 

spare no one who doesn’t decry his infidelity. Yet, there were days in the  

Sultanate, in the Caliphate and in Moorish Spain, when  

there was tolerance, at least, for those who abided by the Book. 

And art, architecture and philosophy flourished. Even Greek  

wisdom actually came to the Europeans from the Muslims! 

So what when it came to the Muslim Brotherhood, that snailed  

out of a common hatred for the West and all things Western; 

its culture, its licentiousness, its revelry in materialism,  

its power over others, and its colonialism and imperialism! What is the calling out of 

bigotry of others as you entertain your own fundamentalist jihadist ideology? 

And you found it so hard to dissipate your tribal hatred; now restively  

between each other’s borders that you draw after you owe ultimate allegiance 

to religion and still not get over internal conflict between Shia and Sunni;  

and Saudi Arabia and Iran; and what about beleaguered Yemen!

So why is it not prudent to say that if Muslim can’t kill somebody else, it will kill another Muslim?  

And where did the Myanmar Muslims get refuge? Where did any of the  

Muslim refugees get any refuge as the rich Muslims shut their borders to poor Muslims?

And they all try to seek legitimate or illegitimate entry into Europe? Thank you, Angela Merkel! 

What would you say is your affinity to religion compared to apathy to race or nationality? 

Do you fear dilution of your own peoples with the onslaught or encroachment of refugees?

Have you ever got over your old tribal racism, now in a new garb? 

And do many of your rulers sideline the fundamentalist Islamists for fear of losing their own power?

How do Muslims cry foul in any other nation, naturalised by them, and challenge the 

fabric of those nations with terrorism? Aren’t your women freer in the West than in your own nations?

Do you empathise with the Kurds? Do you ever cry about the Muslims in Uighur? 

Or would you pale to intimidate China, and threaten a liberal Europe instead, or curry favour with a now resolute America?  

We know that at times the cry for justice is mouthed by those who commit the most injustices!  

Now, do you think Allah is ready to arrive like a moonbeam on Earth in spite of your  

fragmented convocation and dissimilitudes?
