Mother: An Ode

At times I think of love’s poignant embrace

Lasting memories of your quick-witted grace

Endearing are the whispers of your priceless homespun wisdom

That revisit me in times of utter humdrum

You taught us about love’s selfless expanse

About morals, integrity, dignity, faith and substance

The rill of your exemplariness stretched every distance

into the ocean of the world that took our stance

Irreproachable was your sense of duty

Dependability was what you gave as a fixity

Sweet nectar was the smile on your lips

that assuaged us in times of inconsolable dips

Your strength and resilience were verily an inspiration

teaching us the die-hard gifts of loving, caring and sharing

Ages go by in moments, time is irrevocably spent

But memories of your legacy will never be evanescent

I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
