God’s word is about being truly free: A poem

How often do we worry about life’s confusing conundrum

When the proclivity to stereotypes holds us to ransom

For the path of materialism is beaten down by powers that be

And we are herded by false causes, and we fail to see

Half the world is regressing by what some religions offer

Another half is trapped in the licentiousness that libertines proffer

Evil is in the extremes, the medium is in being fierce but sublime

To walk the proverbial tight-rope, and prove the test of time

Listen to the song of conscience, let the soul be your voice

The singular path you tread on, is just a matter of choice

to ignore the circumstance, and let divine will be the waft

that could set you soaring on God’s prescribed draft

That wisdom comes from within, experience is without

Truth is occluded by illusion, God’s word is about

being truly free, after you never did deign

even if it meant living through worldly pain

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
