History is replete with tales of brazen belligerence
Civilisations have been built on such aggressiveness
That man is inculcated to view his neighbours as aliens
And subjugate them, and instill fear in their veins
Peace has not a chance between fallacious borders
As long as domination of others is the day’s order
And callous war is only the means for greed for power
Those that seek it should indeed in shame cower
For the glory of victory is a falsehood and deception
But its snare is so convincing it clouds our perception
That in an age where we love to believe we are ambivalent
We have not come far from the dark ages, with eyes malevolent
Leaders who thus ruthlessly seek to war make
Are consigning their souls to hell in the wake
