Justice and closure: A poem

Have we any living evidence that God is just?

That for all our gullible ignorance, believe we must

When we are overwhelmed by misery, yet to good we allude

Do we have the right to think that justice is skewed?

Destiny is a record-keeper, and destiny is not one lifetime

May be that we are besieged as we have to pay for past crimes

Be afraid those who have no remorse, and do not give a dime

There’s justice in the future, though there seems a long line

Those who think they can get away with murder will have no teeth

And no recourse to anything, once the rug is pulled off their feet

Justice may take too long in the coming, but it certainly will

It is those that believe in eternity that will have their fill

Those who have not justice, let wisdom be the treasure

That in the mysteries of reincarnation, we must find present closure

It is in paying that we seek current retribution or future reward

When closure is in the silence of accepting, then justice comes from God
