Patience will bring windfall: A poem

Can we reckon there is hope in good

That despite the pitfalls it is understood

as we struggle with woes that we should

bravely bear the torch and resist the crude

Life is not about how much success we attain

True success is in evil spurned and done in vain

Our achievements should not be measured by material’s reign

But how we master our burdens and cope with the pain

There is a singular closure that comes with incorruptibility

And a spiritual crevice that befalls incorrigibility

To eclipse greed and crime, and to willingly sublimate

to the call of propriety is with eternity one’s date

For with every birth and rebirth a transitory judgement is called

On how near we are to the divine or how far we fall

It is the temporal that is weak, the noble soul stands tall

Life may not be kind to the good, but with death comes the windfall

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
