God’s tabernacle is at the pinnacle: A poem

It is easy not to struggle and to swim downstream

For downstream is the fulfilment of material dreams

Life, though, is about living a little and dying a little

But in living must be certain that integrity is not whittled

There is no harm in acquisitions, but happiness is in keeping

the charm of innocence and selfish gain not seeking

Trepidations should arise not from the failure to capitalise on opportunities

But from the benumbing of goodness and spiritual dignities

That in reaping temporal benefits and pursuing wealth

We ought not to ignore the hard work it takes for eternal health

For true wisdom is in judiciousness, not being reckless over greed

When pragmatism is in withholding and in virtue taking heed

The hazards of resisting evil are very difficult but only temporary

To be caught in evil’s tides is sure drowning on the contrary

For with all our might and resoluteness when we ascend the pinnacle

Then it is for us to enjoy the feast of God’s bounteous tabernacle

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
