In wisdom, choices of free will
are a path to resist evil
For in living the lie
does conscience hopelessly die
Minds that do not deign
cannot avoid material pain
But lies the true success
in ignoring establishment’s duress
Virtue is indifference to advocacy’s haunts
And the simile of icons
For their glory is brittle as glass
Food is in the fire not in the brass
Though goodness is a millstone that burdens
the steeplechase is run with the hurdles
The true hero is the one who bleeds
unsung and unwept for his deeds
Beautiful Monte
This would resonate with so many
