To dear Mum: A poem

Silvery and soft like dew

when you are in view

Your spirit comes to me

like to a flower does a bee

 My mountains aren’t scaled

The turbulent seas aren’t sailed

But you silently cheer me on

Reminding me of the onset of dawn

The rainbow on your shoulder

makes me fearless though I’m older

The sunflower on my frond

is the blessing from your wand

Darkness is only a molten night

Hope’s quill with which I write

The flame that you ignite

fills my heart’s quarters with sunlight

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
