I wish…: A poem

I wish that humanity is riparian on banks

of goodness; that conscience closes our ranks

We are wise as clocks that strike twelve

Innocent as an infant’s years that never melt

Truth be our health, justice be our wealth

To let no Rubicon for men with evil and stealth

Romanticism may not only be the lyric of self

But a large nourishing forest of kelp

There is no measure for a life that’s short

that has fulfilled its purpose for what it’s worth

A heart that always wears a rainbow shirt

is the couturier of its neighbour’s skirt

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
