Darkness at Olympus: A poem

Apollo knows not why the sun

sank below the horizon and came undone

Zeus has smelled the shame of Olympus

because the world below only gets worse

Hephaestus’ steel has gone blunt

The sword of greed is on the hunt

Arachne’s yarn spins without art

The garment is worn with hate in the heart

Poseidon feasts with the stormy Titans’ bunch

as the ship of peace has irredeemably sunk

Artemis runs wild with the curse

that children are reared by materialism’s nurse

Ares is bitterly perplexed by the feuds

His courage by man is misconstrued

O Hermes, grant us the wisdom

of collective will in this ruthless season

I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
