Old MacDonald’s Farm: A poem

Lots of chocolate and lots of chips

Lots of Coke at my fingertips

Old MacDonald’s farm is in splits

The conmen have been given the slips

There are many rows within the hedgerow

where, without water, the flowerheads grow

And all the laughter makes it all too slow

There’re timeless moments above and below

You can catch the cold and trap the heat

All within the strike of a heartbeat

For the dream is more real than the sleep

You’ll get to eternity. Don’t you weep!

For, the turkey rides the duck’s back

And the cats and dogs are all in one pack

The cows and pigs share the same shack

And the horses and sheep are in full whack

Would you ever dare to join the party?

Here dragons, lions and tigers are hale and hearty

Noone is a day older than forty

The Old Lord feels he’s young as thirty
