Can’t walk freedom with Man: A poem

The plant shoots out, then the tree

But the roots, like the wind, are not free

Microchips and AI are moments in time

And, sooner, they will be older wine

Can we scour the stars for freedom

Circumstance is the gravity of wisdom’s kingdom

We can have a lot of technology for tea

But progress is only a pop of surf in the sea

It is time that washes on the shore

Ears can’t shut out its insolent roar

We can’t still evil clouds much to our sorrow

A calamity can strike with the break of morrow

And in the clutches of Scorpio is a shut door

Pisces gave us grief for all that was more

Cancer is a long capturing claw, hardly a romancer

How escapes the rock-and-roll dancer?!

Towers of heritage have been made wicked rubble

The Age of Man makes our breath a rancid bubble

The legacy of Man has been a tragedy of virtues

In a water world, we can’t walk freedom with all our shoes

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
