Infinite is life’s moment: A poem

There is no vacuum in space

It is like an infinite invisible lace

The quarks are not just random larks

They connect every distance on their marks

This awe at such vast unique unison

Even at blackholes that make meals of suns

The canopy unfurls with all its folds

Even undiscovered dark energy, is it hot or cold?

In the universe’s memory, does each moment hang?

And the moment that resulted in the Big Bang?

The massive scales traversed till then

Have we even counted till ten?

My life is a long winding eternity in a moment

My struggles are plainly not worth a comment

Even though weary am I, I am brimming with hope

For, to every depth I sank, I was tied to a rope

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.

  1. Monte – you write so beautifully . I read your poems – you write with so much subtlety , so much poignancy . I am grateful for your words of wisdom and introspection as they speak my aloud what I cannot express . Thank you
