Any regrets? Contact Agony Aunt: Just for laughs

Everybody reads agony columns quite avidly. Call it an obtuse glee at seeing others suffer, or genuine empathy; but I’m sure none can overlook a column that reads like this:

Dear Agony Aunt,

I am a thirteen-year-old. Most of my friends are having the time of their lives, but mum insists I shouldn’t go out on dates. Please advise.

                                                                                                                                          Miss Demeanour

AA: The best thing to do is let your mother know what you’re up to. Take her along with you on your next date.

Dear AA,

I’m having an extra-marital affair, but my wife insists we shouldn’t divorce. Advise.

                                                                                                                                             Allen Deavouring

AA: Eat your cake and have it too!

Dear AA,

I’m so down, I want to commit suicide; only for the fear that I’ll regret it later. Help!

                                                                                                                                              Deep Ressed

AA: Always remember, there’s more regret in not doing the things one wants to do than in doing them.

Any problems, personal or professional? Contact Agony Aunt. She’s the surest way to light up your nights. Also, don’t forget, you always get what you deserve…stupid advice for stupid queries!

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
