O life, Earth!: A poem

The leaves drop dead with summer’s departure

But the tree will survive the wintry future

And the hatchlings will determinedly learn to fly

For daylight always permeates through the sky

The wind can be shallow, the wind can be rough

Every change is signature that the earth is tough

It can wipe out the relentless vandal-man’s graffiti

It always smiles like a bride showered with confetti

It is a dishwasher where the dishes turn immaculately clean

It has all the nurture of a selfless mother’s wean

The humble purification of soul is always ceaseless

that resolutely outwits man, the greedy graceless

It sends invisible messages that every epoch comes and goes

Yet its floor and hallways remain the same behind revolving doors

No matter if let loose is man’s acts of wicked crime

There is reason in life, and in rejuvenation there is rhyme
