I am older than Methuselah…: A poem

I am older than Methuselah

I am younger than the future

I can gladly sing: Shalala!

For I always see the bigger picture

I am wiser than Solomon

I don’t get impressed by con

Like Enoch, I converse with the gods

Yet, I am my own master and lord

The devil, to me, is only a sod

He can’t put me at any odds

Enki may have watered the place

But I think he was a bloody disgrace

Men are only as good as fish

They should be given a hasty miss

Light came first, but will it last?

It sinned against God much too fast

I know my glory is in not wanting reward

Money and power are the root of discord

I owe my dignity to Mum and Dad

The integrity, they taught me, is no passing fad

Above all, my most beloved Sarah’s face

is in my soul like a precious lace

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
