Casula, my princess: A poem

This perceiving is no illusion

that brings immensity in visions

And I rear up my illuminated head

to the towers of gratitude on my bed

Believing in the depth of what is unsaid

unspoken and wise and concise

like the stars’ silent, unfettered rise

in the learning and absorbing night

You knew so much more, so much more

than the humble, innocent fur you wore

For, animals have a greater wisdom

that buys them all that eternal freedom

I can see your love is a fire that never dies

It is a truth that veritably flies,

never in demanding whats and whys,

in the infinite openness of skies
