Is forgiveness a commandment?: A poem

The roadblocks and signs alert the passersby

and the drivers take diversions with a sigh

Yes, we all have instructions that we must heed

It can be agitating, but it is also a need

We can all try to squish anxiety with our fingertips

But to be caught in life’s traffic jams is no honey on our lips

Clouds may loom, the stars may dim, deluges come too

How we wish to forget loss, like flush in the loo!

But we can’t undress trouble like garments every day

like the heating that dissipates the cold in the south in May

But there is warmth, I must say, from the ones we love

Yet, should we forgive our enemies? I ask the one above

Animosity is not just an opinion. It couldn’t be a mere sword of ego?

Can God forgive Satan? Or does he wish to settle the score?

Forgiveness should be granted only to those who deserve it

Must repeated offenders be absolved without paying for it?

  1. yes, forgiving is mandatory. Even the phrase ‘ I forgive’ has ego in it . don’t you think

Repeat offenders will continue to offend

    haters will hate

    Potatoes will potate

who cares what the rest do – we will live in light
