No cracks in the glassware: A poem

The fetters of circumstance can always be left behind

The absence of truth is ephemeral, justice is divine

It is a potion of eternity, not just momentary wine

The ideals we shared through time were sublime

I can read history’s beginnings in an enigmatic smile

Its anecdotes can’t be recounted in mere one lifetime

We have a tryst on our wrists, even though torn apart

There’s always an eternity where we can make a fresh start

These petals of endearments are always fresh in the soul

There are many causes to fight for, but love is also a goal

Integrity is a tiger; faith feeds its engine like burning coals

Humility is a perennial dress, but courage sequins its stole

We can sculpt perpetual hope even on the borders of despair

To me a creation of loyalty and love is beyond compare

My genius is a flourish in the ingenuity that is your fare

Our distance and silence don’t crack the precious glassware

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
