It was never easy to be me!: A poem

Do you think

duty is as easy as a drink?

Do you think

that you can have treachery cover all your pages like ink?

How does it feel

when evil adds poison in your every meal?

What can you pack

in your bag of possessions that are always hijacked?

Do you know

what it is to live in a straitjacket forever so?

Can you do battle

when your strength is a mere whittle?

Can you will

to exchange your suffering for freedom in evil?

Can you have sympathy

that all this is the fruit of my tree?

But, in my humility

I never let down my eternal duty

For I know that sacrifice

unlike fame and fortune never dies

 But please forgive me

if sometimes I cry because the burden is too heavy

Hi, I am Monte Cyril Rodrigues and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a retired journalist. I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia. I've had voices and visions all my life. I think it is a spiritual experience, my doctors think otherwise. I am a deeply spiritual person and keep having experiences with otherworldly realms.
