Pervigilium: A poem

Can we go into the night sky,

you and I? Like leaving them

Lucy’s diamonds far below

us; and tearing up the edges of

the Universe, like a garment

that falls short of our magnitude!

If only I can reinstitute your

candidature for being candid

against my heart, awash with tears

from aeons of deceit! Please do not repeat!

I trapezed through eternal Cirque

De Soleil; only for my enemies

to win all the prizes from my travails!

Forget about it! I hold nothing against you!

But please treat me with honesty and

duty of care, from now on!  Just for the sake

of truth and justice, if not me!

I want you to hold my hand, because

I am not just going to extinguish

the night lamp, not just yet! Hold my hand in

reassurance, against all their wishes

for you, even if under duress; so that I know your

bravery, equal to mine. Let us tower together

like the arms of creation, we are,

beyond every edifice of doubt! So, I should

no more wear blinkers, or be quixotic

about my pathways. even on the narrowest

most tortuous roads. If you should

garner for me the lucidity of every

atomic eye in the Universe, put together!
