The gems of Gemini!: A poem

You know I think fondly of the month of September

Am I biased because I was born to the world in that month?

September signifies the end of summer in the North

And the beginning of Spring season in the South.

I remember September, but I also am reminded of many

other months, where the birthdays of loved ones fall.

But where is May-June in my mind(?); like a little lyric;

A lot of heat of May and a lot of rain of June, back in Mumbai!

And when I left India for good! Gemini became a season

I dedicated to my pets. Not all of them were the gems of

Gemini; One darling pet was born in Gemini; and another dear pet

I lost in Gemini. These pets are just like the fronds of Gemini;

reminding me of an eternal love, muted but so solid.

Muscled like the heat of stars; and far-reaching like their light.

Love is like a mythical twin. A gemstone in everyone that

you love is reflected in that humongous myth. A myth is only a

reality that is a narrative of soulful dissertation of spiritual

exotica. You see the sky as biright in day, and dark in night.

But true love is like a candour shining all through your life without

dimming; no matter the caprice of emotion. If you feel worthy of love,

you have it even in your loneliness. And all the loved ones,

that you do not have around you in your loneliness, are there

with you in that worthiness; just like Castor is there for Pollux!
