The greatest love poet: A poem

Does leftism and love go together, Pablo Neruda?

I thought love was all too righteous

I don’t like Communistic density; I think it is oblique

or obtuse; whichever suits me fine at the instance

of debate. The world is not one world under the red flag

of sickle and hammer! So, Neruda, I write you off!

Does love sink you to your knees; or do you shout STOP?!

For, love should make you stand upright; and see! Not blindly flipflop!

How do I assure myself that Sappho is love?

When lesbianism comes to me as a culture shock!

I just think she may not have been; she may just have been deemed to have been!

Do her intense words leave the lips locked?

I think of John Keats, like a medicine of repeats

Of both love and love in mythology like heart beats

And he does get applause from the front seats!

O tender like tenderloins W B Yeats!

How love flows in your beautiful words and then abates!

Like a rock that is foundation, but can also crush the palates!

O Sufi mystic Rumi!

Your love finds divinity and also finds God

And so, such love poetry is never odd!

And I should not press for the best

It only is jargon, never put to the test

We are what we prove ourselves to be

worthy of love and always pleased to be free

whether passionate and loud or silent for eternity!!!

And I am just all emotions in my mind, but only a soliloquy on love

that knows only simple mute invocation; beneath in humility and pride all above!
