Doesn’t Janus have two faces?: A poem

I arise like wind-swept slopes to the pinnacle

And take the fragrances of the flowering shrubs with me

Over into the open skies where the azure blue reminds me

of the soothed embers of eternity’s fires calming my spirits

And there are secrets in my DNA glowing on my skin

like each pore of my body had a follicle growing from within

I am no longer an innocent child but I have innocence of profound wisdom

like wormholes trying to reach out to the incandescence where love blooms

like a periplus around a promise, and should the promise be perfunctory?

I am just not going to settle for less, not even if I am marked

Even if I am bled dry by the curse of treachery

Love is like a ghost city inviting me to persist to stay

I am not going to be locked out from my own convictions, integrity

I am not going to be the victim of an imposed demeanour

by entities who think about only them selfish selves and not me

Thus, I am not compliant, but I am a completeness

That none of you can compromise into a repletion of idiocy

I am not ashamed to say I love, and I perk up my love with utmost ardour

And I am not ashamed to say, there is another side of me which I will not forgo!
