If determination meets bravery…: A poem

I am building this way

And I think it is a stairway

Just where it will go

I do not know!

You take the other side

And I feel I am in overdrive

I could kill for you to be mine

But I am only killing time!

So, where is the torchlight?

Inside the pyramid it is neither black nor white

I just don’t think I’ll go pale with fright

Just because, as yet, it is overwhelmingly night

And should I think I could die

if it means God (the pyramid) has only one eye?

But you have two hands

So lend me one, with firebrand!

And mine are tied to my back, around

I keep fighting without a sound!

This cacophony, they are playing, is not the music

I’d like to hear; it makes me sick

The trick is to comprehend the voice behind it

Thus, I dance with my wits

You see, if you are my tandem

I can fight all those (m)admen

For, we are not voices in the dark

We haven’t ever lost our spark!

You and me, am I a fool,

always talking cock and bull?

Do you think the King lost his throne for a footstool?

Do you think he is all wound up like a spool?

Do you think because he was wounded in his thigh?

He indulged in scopophilia to pleasure his eye?

No, I am self-determinist righteous to the day I die!

Would you, like Delilah, lie? Or, would you bravely choose to be mine, Oh my?!!!
