All my love to you, Dad!: A poem

Sometimes, I feel a little lonely

Love is like thin air in the field

when I  want it and can’t even grasp it!

If only it was the flowers in the meadow

you brought home to us….

I am shattering my disgrace of not thinking about you enough

when the diaspora of my convictions

fall to the earth like a pouring rain

and you become a figment of the past

I should have always imagined

how profound was your fortress of love

like a sky that I still can’t fathom which way is above and below

And just when I think I have breached all the dimensions,

the call for you gets more imminent with age!

The stars are reminding me that their light is so distant, it gets too cold

And I am but a frailty, running wild in the darkness of my ego

When I should have turned to you, a long time ago

This realisation is gnawing at me, there is a stupidity of the soul

And sometimes, we can be our own hyenas lurking in the jungle

Sometimes, I feel the pain

And I know it is my own fault that I measured my love for you in vain

Your beauty is like the tallest sturdy mountain that speaks not its name

But is so high against my window, how could I have only seldom glanced

to ignore its miracle magic, like a conversation I failed to make

Even if it began with a question…all those faraway lands were ours to take

Pride of place is a mere spot on the siege, but glory is of eternity made

And when I feel so lonely

Like I’ve finished counting all the stars, counting all the hours

A moment stops in my palm, stills all the motion of the world

And, suddenly, I am the little boy whistling in your arms!
