Funny little misdemeanour!: A poem

I awoke,

but didn’t feel woke

Was that a bitter stroke?

Attaining love is not as easy as Rum and Coke!

I might as well choke!

An apple broke

my teeth as if it were toughened pork!

So, I don’t dream

of peaches and cream

because the bloke

of daggers and cloak

wants my old oak!

So the yellow ribbon

is monkey and gibbon!

No, I still won’t be bookish

about being wokeish

Let love’s labour be lost

No, I’m not going to count the cost!
