How can I imagine being a loyalist, when I am nobody’s child?!: A poem

Sometimes, I’d like to imagine that the dawn sky

would peek out of its closet of stark blanketness

and yield me a golden torch shining straight at me!

As if its blue was actually versicoloured, and there were

no battles on the horizons, no embargos on celebration!

I’d tie a yellow ribbon for love, and a blue and black riband

for loyalty sticking out of my glands to remind the

chosen ones that redemption is a gateway not a getaway!

But how is this resolution so cold and heated, like a distant star that

looks like crystal and yet, is fire! Why is the breadth of reality

an enigma behind the illusion? If I were to tread the beaten path,

would I beg to differ? There is so much hostility toward uniqueness

that is considered a strangeness. Do they think they can broker

submission, by ganging up on obdurate righteousness? I am, yet, a failure at opportunity,

but a success in hope and forbearance. You know, if I were to believe

that there is a chattel in the canton that awaits me to treat me with

grandeur, a lamplight in the darkness that celebrates my illumination;

that there is a dance with chance, that there is a band playing in a haven

that plays my song, that there is a princess with a Cinderella shoe.

O my true love…love…how do I dance amidst your rebuttal?….Do I dance for a chance?

Somewhere in the envelope of the horizon, the trumpet is blaring for

Jericho to fall from disgrance and be mine with grace. Can Solomon be wise without a throne…

And can he be potent without his true love. Today’s Temple of Jerusalem is no replica

of the original, of its Masonic magnificence! Am I, thus, majestic in my inopulence?

Or do I recall my Empire, even if it were no longer arcane standing stone?

Do I pick the flowers of love from my Paradisical gardens, when I am constantly reminded

that I am in the wild and I am nobody’s child!!! How can I ever regain my lost throne

when I am a hopeless nomad and a rolling stone!!!
