The one I love the most in the world
is partying with my enemies!
So what do I do? Let them have their flags unfurled?
Or, in rage, shake up all their trees?
I know Saint Paul and Ananus ben Ananus are hand in glove
Though they pretend to be on opposite sides of the trough
But me, in the eternal checkmate of me, I look with grace from above
And tone down my emotion for all that I love!
I won’t cry about my pain, and even if with weak acts I deign
I know my enemies will capitalise on it, after the rain, again and again!
I see beauty in sacrifice and duty, even if I am called insane
for rejecting all that comes with selfish sense of gain!
And would I so, selflessly, think I am nobody’s child
even if that should leave me impoverished, helpless and wild
I’ve always prided myself to be a one-man army
Even in the overlooming clouds, I see myself as balmy (not what you all think as barmy!)
